Public Safety Telecommunicator
Under the supervision of the ECC manager, the Public Safety Telecommunicator (911 Dispatcher) serves as the communication link between the citizens and public safety agencies like police, fire, and emergency medical services. This work involves utilization of multiple communications and technology platforms, such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, the WEAPON system, the National Criminal Information System, and many other information systems and technology platforms that are operated through the use of computer systems.
Employees considered for employment by the Greenbrier County Emergency Communications Center must pass a background check. The applicant must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
All employees of the Greenbrier County Homeland Security & Emergency Management and Emergency Communications Center must agree to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement related to protecting sensitive information and material.
All employees will be required to do a sit in of up to 1-hour at the Emergency Communications Center prior to being hired.
Benefits
This is a full-time position with benefits (health insurance, life insurance and retirement plan). Employees assigned to the Emergency Communications Center will work rotating shifts, seven days a week, which include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Employees also earn overtime pay when working on state and federal holidays, will also receive shift differential pay and on-call pay.
